Set in the heart of Lydbrook in the Forest of Dean and previously known as The Anchor Inn, this cosy village pub, which dates back to the 15th century, is now a charmingly converted holiday cottage designed as accommodation for large groups.
Complete with bar and woodburning stove, we’ve done our best to retain the feel and ambience of the old Anchor Inn while modernising sympathetically. For an outdoor, activity or family holiday you couldn’t be better placed.
The Anchor has 7/8 bedrooms, all en-suite, sleeping up to 22 people, plus there’s a ground floor room with sofa bed and its own bathroom for the elderly or frail. Some bedrooms have their own tv’s. The bedrooms at the front have a great view of 18th century superstar actress Sarah Siddon’s house.
The large kitchen is great for preparing meals for everyone at the 20 seat dining table.
With Superfast Broadband and full Sky Film and Sports Pack it's ideal for work and leisure.

"The house is a great space to hold a celebration with many guests. Each room having its own en-suite gives all guests privacy. The kitchen is extremely well equipped not only with crockery but with utensils as well and the two dishwashers were a great help. I catered for 14 people over 3 days and never once needed a kitchen item that wasn’t available. The dining room is large enough to seat 20, close enough to the kitchen that you can hear the laughter and join in but far enough away that the guests can’t see the mess you are making in the kitchen ! The house is in a lovely area with footpath walks on the doorstep for those that like a little wander or have dogs to exercise. The outside space is great too with a hot tub, games room and lawned area for children to run around on or for people to lounge on. The indoor and outdoor spaces offer something for every age. I would definitely recommend."
